Arrow Game: Level by Level
Every piece on the board is an arrow, or a chain of arrows, that wants to leave in the direction it points. Tap one and it slides out, unless something is in its way. Find the pieces that can move, clear the board, and the next level is a little tighter than the last.
How to play
- 1
Read the arrows
Each piece points somewhere. A single arrow flies straight off the board in that direction. A chain of arrows crawls along its own path and leaves through the head, the cell with the white ring.
- 2
Tap a piece that has a clear way out
Look along the line from the head to the edge of the board. If nothing is in that line, the piece can go. If another piece is sitting there, it bumps, shakes and stays, and you get a miss.
- 3
Clear the board
Removing a piece never blocks another one, so any move that works is a safe move. Keep going until the board is empty, then take on the next level. Your level is saved in this browser.
What makes it a good puzzle
Every level has a solution
Boards are built by placing pieces in the reverse of a solved order, so a way out always exists. The puzzle is finding it, not guessing whether it is there.
It gets harder the right way
Early boards are 4 by 4 with plenty of free pieces. Later ones grow to 8 by 8, fill up, and leave only one or two pieces free at a time. Longer chains hide their heads better.
Plays anywhere
Tap on a phone, click on a desktop. The board fits whatever screen it gets, and there is nothing to install or sign up for.
